Happy Friday baby!
I moderated two sensational HR / DEI / Belonging Leadership panels at HRD Canada this week, and the wisdom blew me away. Here are my top 3 takeaways on employee well-being from industry-leading panelists from Microsoft, Metrolinx, Deciem, and many more:

Leading companies know that “employee health and well-being” includes MENTAL health and well-being. Forget the siloed and HR-driven approach to wellness, and reframe your total rewards to be a holistic container of human-centered outlook, conscious of how we best support our people, regardless of what they are experiencing.

Kind, clear communication will drive home what is (and isn’t) working. Asking all five generations what they need, and how meeting those needs supports their ability to show up and be their best is the measurement we need to keep the bottom line healthy and robust.

Gone are the days of seeing employees as a single facet. Successful teams have shifted their perspective to embrace the reality that each of us is a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional wearers-of-many-hats. Leading with compassion, learning as you go, and having the courageous vulnerability to be flexible and adapt will create loyalty and trust, building a culture of a human-centered workplace that people love to be in.
It’s refreshing to see companies empowering their leaders to do the big work of leading with:
- compassion
- adaptability
- top-down vulnerability

Here’s what I know to be true, my friend:
People are complex, faceted individuals riding an emotional roller coaster every damn day of our lives.
If you think that our marriages, parenting, pet and family care-giving, inner critic, and finances aren’t impacting our performance at work, think again.
The strongest leaders and teams are adapting their outdated HR policies and procedures to be FAR more encompassing of emotional, mental, and financial health and wellbeing. Those are the ones that will continue to excel and get the results they have been working towards.
And the ones who don’t?
They are getting left behind with the VERY expensive problem of high employee dissatisfaction and turnover – especially as AI is hurtling towards replacing alllll of the busy work, positioning emotionally intelligent leadership as THE future of work.
Book a call with me now and let’s tap into your best possible leadership qualities so you can live, lead, and succeed on your terms. Give me three months and I can increase your leadership skills twofold.
Guaranteed.
Warmly and with thanks,
Leisse
